Medical AssistantThe Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC is currently seeking a Medical Assistant to provide quality nursing care services to the patients of our Clinic and the physicians providing their care. In these positions, the nurse will be responsible for scheduling, injections, pre-certifications, procedures, referrals, Rx call-ins, and phone triage.Medical Specialty: UrologyEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Provides patient care as a member of the health care team within scope of license.Follows nursing policies, procedures, and protocols and implements appropriately in the care of adult and pediatric patients.Provides instructions to patients regarding treatment plan, medications and follow-up.Communicates effectively with other members of the health care team including accurate documentation in patient medical records.Greets patients with a smile, completion of registration forms, and gives instructionsInterview patients while recording and updating medical information (history, chief complaint) and medications etc. into the myChartPrepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening testsProvides patient education with regards to medications and instructions set forth by the provider to manage their healthTriages emergency situationsPrepares and administers medications with physician authorizationRefill requests and Prior Authorizations for medicationsJob Location: Baton Rouge Clinic - Perkins7373 Perkins Rd Baton Rouge, LA 70808Department: NursingClass: Full-TimeBasic Skills Required:• Must have at least 1-year experience in a clinical setting, (Urology preferred) • Must possess excellent communication skills. • A patient-focused work ethicSpecific Skills Required:• Current Louisiana License • Demonstrated, successful organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. • The ability to effectively and proactively communicate, both verbally and in writingHiring Requirements:Drug TestingBackground ChecksBaton Rouge Clinic Credit CheckEducation Required: Medical Assistant CertificationUnit of Pay: HourlyShift: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm schedule may vary as neededAdditional Benefits:Medical Insurance (Company pays 100% of employee only rate.)Dental InsuranceVision InsuranceRetirement PlanPaid Time Off (PTO)20% discount for selected services rendered at the ClinicIf you need further information, please contact Human Resources at .
