Certified Medication Aide - (CMA) – Certification RequiredCertified Medication Aide (CMA) - PRN (Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Oregon)Setting: Skilled NursingLocation: Avamere Rehab of Beaverton - 11850 SE Allen Blvd Beaverton, OR 97005Avamere is seeking a Certified Medical Aide (CMA) to join our team and support resident care with compassion and professionalism. In this role, you'll assist with clinical tasks, documentation, and communication between residents, families, and providers in a skilled nursing setting.Please Note: This role requires an active Certified Medical Aide (CMA) credential. Medication Technicians do not meet the requirements for this position.What You'll Need:Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting programCurrent CMA certification (AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or AMT)CPR/BLS CertificationStrong interpersonal and organizational skillsThe primary responsibility of this position is to assist in the administering of medication to residents.Job Responsibilities:Administer medications to residents as ordered and under the direction of the attending physicianAdminister medications in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, local procedures and practices, and requirements of the stateAccurately and safely prepare, administer, and document the oral and/or topical medications ordered for a residentComplete necessary forms, charts, and reports in a timely mannerEnsure all medications administered are properly labeled, returned, and reorderedCreate and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and foster a calm and cheerful environmentParticipate in facility surveys by authorized government agenciesMaintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelinesEffectively communicate necessary resident information to charge nurses, director of nursing and/or administratorQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentMust be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant /Certified Medication Aide in the state of Oregon.Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageKnowledge of the meaning and common medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms for medication administrationAbility to accurately measure, record, and report vital signsMust speak, read, and write English fluentlyMust have an active CPR/BLS certificationAt Avamere, we believe in taking care of our employees.
