Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas - Winchester
Job Title: Certified Nursing Aide
Job Type: PRN - Nights
Schedule: (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) Rotating Weekends
How You'll Contribute
Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Monitors and records vital signs, intake and output, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.
Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.
Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
Manages tech desk operations and assists with maintaining efficient department throughput.
Documents patient care and activities in accordance with hospital and unit standards.
Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Unit Volume
7-14 patients daily
Staffing Model
Up to 8 patients: 1 Nurse + 1 CNA
Over 8 patients: 2 Nurses + 2 CNA
Unit Type: Acute Setting
Rooms
14 rooms (Winchester, double occupancy available)
Care Model
Collaborative team approach (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)
What We're Looking For
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Certifications
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Certified Nursing Assistant Aide Licenses from the State of Tennessee.
Handle with Care certification preferred.
