Simmonds, Martin & Helmbrecht of Advantia Health is looking for a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our practices in Frederick, Gaithersburg, Rockville, and Damascus, MD. We are looking for a full scope Certified Nurse Midwife with solid gyn experience and antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum experience that includes patients with varying medical conditions (diabetes, hypertension, etc.). We are also looking for someone that possesses a strong team spirit and a passion for birth and caring for women throughout their lifetime.

nSimmonds, Martin, and Helmbrecht has hospital privileges with Frederick Hospital.

nJob Responsibilities:

nnProvide full scope nurse-midwifery services including antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care, as well as well woman care and family planning according to established protocols and per agreement with the collaborating physician.

nMaintain a productivity level necessary to reach the mandated annual level of client encounters.

nParticipate/lead appropriate interdisciplinary teams. Contribute toward development of annual action plan health care plan as appropriate.

nPerform history and physical exams on new and returning clients.

nManage acute and chronic illness' according to established protocols in collaboration with physicians.

nRefer patients to follow-up health care providers or community agencies as necessary.

nOrder and interpret diagnostic tests, such as ultrasounds and blood tests.

nProvide emotional support and guidance during labor and pregnancy.

nMonitor maternal and fetal vital signs as well as identifying high-risk pregnancies.

nMonitor and administer medication, injections, and intravenous infusions during labor.

nProvide postpartum care to both mothers and newborns.

nHelp parents to cope with miscarriage, termination, stillbirth and neonatal death.

nMaintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.

nMaintain active hospital delivery privileges as requested.

n nQualifications:

nn Certification as a Nurse Midwife (CNM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).

n Active license as a Registered Nurse (RN).

n Active DEA Number

n Master's degree or higher education in nursing with a specialization in midwifery.

nMidwifery Care Associates (MCA) is an established full-scope midwifery service under Simmonds, Martin, & Helmbrecht, LLC. We are a collaborative practice serving Montgomery County, Frederick County and nearby areas. Midwifery Care Associates provides full scope midwifery services including prenatal care, labor support and delivery, postpartum care, annual well-woman exams and Pap smears, birth control options and consultations, and uncomplicated gynecological care. The midwives attend births at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland and Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, Maryland. Our offices are located in Rockville, Gaithersburg, Frederick, and Damascus.

nCompensation Range: $120,000 - $168,000/year
