CNA Opportunities AvailablePositions available include part-time PM (2:30-10:30pm) and full-time or part-time NOC shift (10:30p-6:30am). Every other weekend only for day shift (6:30am-2:30pm) and casual all shifts for 18 year old+. Flexible scheduling options available. Incentives for picking up shifts also available! Higher starting pay for CNAs with long-term care experience. Golden Age Manor Certified Nursing Assistants provide a safe environment, assist with activities of daily living, give emotional and social support and attend to the resident's physical comfort. We will pay for CNA training for the right candidate - please call Mary at to learn more.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential duties include: working alone giving total care or assisting residents with bed bath, tub bath or shower, dental, hair and nail care, shaving, dressing and undressing, application of make-up, elimination needs including toileting by offering bedpan, urinal or taking to bathroom, ambulating, transferring, positioning by using assistive devices such as a walker, wheelchair, mechanical lift, gait belt or lift sheets. Performing restorative and rehabilitative nursing procedures as instructed. Assisting residents in preparing for activity and social programs and transport, accompany and participate when assigned. Answering call lights promptly. Feeding residents, maintaining intake and output as requested, weighing residents as instructed. Observing and reporting any physical or emotional changes observed in the residents including any complaints or grievances made by the resident. Knowing and following existing lines of communication and authority. Performing all resident care as assigned and according to facility nursing department's policies and procedures. Reading and following resident's care cards daily to ensure provision of appropriate care. Attending department meetings, mandatory in services and seminars as requested. Maintaining at a minimum of 12 hours training each year per CNA certification. Maintaining confidentiality of all the department and organizational information. Assuring that all resident rights are maintained at all times. Reporting any violations or suspected deviations according to facility's policy. Following established safety precautions in performance of all duties. Washing hands before and after performing any service for the resident and following infection control guidelines and universal precautions. Keeping wheelchairs, tables, geri chairs, commodes and other resident equipment clean.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience & Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Required: Current Registered Nursing Assistant on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry or willing to complete training to be a Nursing Assistant. Possession of a current valid Wisconsin Driver's License or regular means of transportation to and from work.Additional InformationCompetency requirements include: integrity/honesty, superior customer service and community relations, accountability, judgment and decision making, self-management, problem solving, valuing diversity, flexibility, communications, and interpersonal relations. Minimum skills assessment requirements include: ability to operate a personal computer to enter resident data as required by regulation and facility policy, ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, ability to write simple correspondence, ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization, ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's, ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical requirements include: ability to transfer, and reposition a resident to or from a bed, wheelchair, and use a mechanical lift, toilet, tub, shower, occasionally the floor. Requires varying degrees of pushing, pulling and lifting due to the differences in resident weights. Must be able to continuously perform simple manipulative Dexterity tasks such as the equipment listed above as well as safety pins, buttons, snaps, buckles and tie strings. Occasionally perform difficult manipulative tasks. Must be able to detect the smell of smoke, spoiled food, soiled linen, etc. The employee must be able to continuously hear normal sounds and voice patterns with some background noise. Must have adequate hearing to receive verbal instructions. Must be able to hear audible emergency signals, alarms, call, light indicators and to be able to answer the phone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Must be able to continuously see objects up close so as to notice a change in the resident's condition (breathing, color, skin breakdown, etc.) Ability to focus and read a thermometer. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can occasionally be loud. Subject to frequent interruptions. Occasional exposure to blood, body tissues, and other potentially infectious fluids. Frequent exposure to chemical compounds of medication and treatments. Frequent exposure to microbial bacteria and other infectious agents inherent to care of ill residents. Continuous exposure to latex, Tyvex, plastic and/or materials which are used for personal protective equipment. Stress of working with sick residents and their families, combined with the resident who may be confused, irrational, highly agitated, or given to abrupt mood swings. (Frequently) Subject to involvement with personnel, visitors, state and federal agency personnel and residents.BenefitsBenefits available to all regular part-time (employees scheduled to work a weekly average of 20 hrs.) and full-time employees. Please note, all benefits are pro-rated based on Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) level. For example, a.80 FTE based on a 37.5 hour week would typically work 30 hours per week. Therefore, each of the Day (Equivalent) listed below would have a value of 6 hours.
