Job description
Certified Nursing AssistantTouching Angels Healthcare, a Residential Service Agency licensed by the Maryland Department of Health, is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants to deliver direct personal care to clients in their homes under the clinical supervision of our RN Case Manager and in accordance with each client's plan of care. You will provide hands-on personal care, monitor and report client condition, and document your care, with all service time recorded through the state ISAS/LTSS system. Full training is provided on agency systems and protocols.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care and ADL Support (40%)Bathe, dress, groom, and feed clients per prescribed protocols, and provide toileting and continence care with dignityPrevent skin breakdown through hygiene, positioning, and injury prevention, and report concerns to the RN Case ManagerHealth Monitoring and Observation (20%)Measure and record vital signs, weights, and intake and output as orderedObserve and report changes in client condition to the RN Case Manager timely, and report accidents promptlyClient Environment and Safety (15%)Maintain a safe, clean home environment; follow standard precautions and OSHA guidelines; and respond to emergencies including CPRDocumentation and Service Time (15%)Clock in and out through ISAS/LTSS every shift and report any failed clock event the same dayKeep clear, complete, timely care records on the correct formsClient Relations and Compliance (10%)Preserve dignity, privacy, and confidentiality; honor client rights; and report suspected abuse or neglect immediatelyPerform nursing tasks only under valid RN delegationPosition RequirementsActive Maryland CNA certification in good standing with the Maryland Board of NursingCurrent CPR and First Aid certificationTwelve hours of continuing education annually through assigned trainingMinimum age of 18; high school diploma or GED preferredHealth clearance: annual physical, TB screening, and Hepatitis B vaccination or documented historySuccessful completion of a criminal background check prior to hireReliable transportation to assigned client homesPreferred: prior home care or private duty experience; experience with transfer equipment; bilingual (Spanish/English)Physical RequirementsRegular lifting averaging 40 pounds, up to 45 times per shift when assisting others; two-person lift where the client weighs over 40 poundsWalking an average of 8 miles per eight-hour shift with frequent crouching, stooping, bending, and stairsAbility to respond to life-threatening emergencies, including CPREnvironment: Client homes across the assigned service area with travel between locations.
