Job description
Nursing Assistant
Schedule
3X12 per week, every other weekend and holiday required.
Assignment Details
None specified.
Requirements
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (through AHA or RQI only).
Minimum high school graduate or equivalent education; post-secondary education in health or human services preferred.
1-2 years of customer service or health-related experience required.
Responsibilities
Perform various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary to address the personal needs and comfort of patients.
Monitor and document vital signs and activities of daily living as outlined in the plan of care.
Assist with meal delivery, set up trays and adaptive equipment, assist with feeding, and distribute nourishments while honoring patient choices.
Maintain patient comfort and safety as outlined in the plan of care, including turning and positioning patients and responding to call lights/alarms promptly.
Document rehabilitation activities as per guidelines, including range of motion, ambulation, transfers, and use of assistive devices.
Identify changes in patient's physical and emotional status and report promptly to the nurse.
Participate in shift change communication by providing complete and relevant information about patients.
