Job description

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Ottawa Health Care Center | Ottawa, Ohio

Your Care Makes the Difference

Ottawa Health Care Center is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our team!

Some of the most important moments in long-term care happen during the everyday things — helping a resident get ready for the morning, sharing a conversation during a meal, offering reassurance on a difficult day, or simply taking the extra minute to make someone feel seen and cared for.

That's why we're looking for compassionate, dependable CNAs who understand just how important their role is.

At Ottawa Health Care Center, our team is guided by four core values: work ethic, integrity, compassion, and competence. We're looking for people who bring those values to work every day and want to be part of a team that genuinely cares about its residents and one another.

What You'll Do

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) , you'll work directly with our residents and nursing team to provide the hands‑on care, comfort, and support our residents depend on every day.

Responsibilities include:

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene

Assist residents with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation

Provide assistance and encouragement during meals

Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident needs with patience and compassion

Take and record vital signs, weights, and other information as directed by the nursing team

Observe residents for changes in condition, behavior, or needs and promptly communicate concerns to the nurse

Assist with maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment

Follow resident care plans and established safety procedures

Provide companionship and meaningful interaction throughout the day

Protect resident dignity, privacy, and independence

Work closely with nurses and fellow CNAs to provide consistent, high‑quality care

Support your teammates and contribute to a positive work environment

What We're Looking For

Current State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in Ohio , or appropriate eligibility to work as a nursing assistant under Ohio requirements

Long‑term care or skilled nursing experience is preferred, but not required

Compassionate and patient approach to resident care

Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and coworkers

Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced healthcare environment

A genuine desire to care for and serve others

Experienced nursing assistants and those beginning their careers in long‑term care are encouraged to apply!
