Certified Nursing AssistanceStarting Rate: $20.50/hourSunday 8:30am-10:30pm, Tuesday 2:30pm-10:30pm, Wednesday 2:30pm-10:30pm, Friday 2:30pm-10:30pmThe Certified Nursing Assistance is responsible to provide assistance to the support staff with the daily activities of individuals, provide ongoing support, guidance, role modeling and providing assistance in meeting clients medical and health needsAt Advocates, we provide comprehensive services for people facing developmental, mental health, or other life challenges.We're a nonprofit, mission-driven organization with a person-centered approach, empowering the individuals we support to make choices, build independence, and live full, meaningful lives. Our work is rooted in respect, compassion, and inclusion, and we envision a world where individual differences are appreciated and celebrated.At Advocates, we value the ideas, experiences, and contributions of employees and are committed to fostering a supportive, welcoming culture where everyone can grow and thrive.Minimum Education RequiredHigh School Diploma/GEDResponsibilitiesReport to shift on time ready to spend at least 95 percent of working hours in personal contact with individualsServe residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direction of a Program Manager and consultative support of DD Community RNPerform all duties in accordance with established methods, techniques and recognized standardAssist program support staff in completion of all daily/shift tasks, including but not limited to oversight of individuals' medical and health needs: hospitalization, appointments, assessments, discharging, transferring and caring for the residents' personal belongingsPrepare summaries of interaction and objective behavioral observations of clients at the end of shift; clinical notes and data collection using Microsoft Outlook.Lift and transfer individuals as needed.Assist individuals in Self-Advocacy, decision-making and empowerment.Provide ongoing support, guidance and role modeling for individuals.Assist individuals with home maintenance and perform cleaning duties as assignedPerform Activities of Daily Living (ADLSs) for residents as requiredCoordinate scheduling for residents requiring OT, PT and STTake and record weights, blood pressures, temperatures, pulse and respiration and give skin care treatments, as permitted by state regulationReport on resident status or family concerns to Program ManagerEnsure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individual's needs and rightsPerform other duties as requestedMaintain certification in CPR, First Aid, SOLVE, MAP, HR/DPPCEnsure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates' Human Rights Policy.QualificationsCertified Nursing Assistance Certificate Required. Experience with the program population is preferred.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals.Basic computer knowledge.Excellent customer services and communication skills.Ability to read and speak English, bilingual preferred.Commitment to Advocates values and mission.Must have valid driver's license and access to auto.Advocates is committed to cultivating a diverse and welcoming community where everyone feels respected and valued.
