IMMEDIATE EMPLOYMENT MUST BE A CNA

nA.BASIC PURPOSE:
nProvides personal care assistant services which entails light housekeeping or companion services in the consumer's home environment including housekeeping, meal preparation and laundry; or sitter services and duties that may encompass shopping and escort services and related assignments. All duties are performed in accordance with an established care plan and under the supervision of the Administrator. The CNA observes the consumer and reports observations and documents the same along with all services performed.

nB.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
nPerforms functions generally undertaken by the natural homemaker, including such duties as preparation of meals, laundry, and light housekeeping.
nAssists consumers with support activities such as reading, playing games, writing letters and general day-to-day support activities.
nProvides consumer transportation by taking shopping or to appointments such as doctor's, hairdresser, etc.
nProvides and maintains a safe environment for consumers, using equipment safely and properly.
nPractices universal precautions in all contacts with consumers.
nMaintains the home in the optimum state of cleanliness and safety depending upon the consumer's and caregiver's resources, and performs or assists consumer/family with home maintenance activities as prescribed in the care plan, including but not limited to, light housekeeping (vacuuming, dusting, washing floors, making beds, doing dishes, etc.).
nMonitors adequate fluid and nutrition intake of the consumer and prepares meals.
nProvides and maintains a safe environment for consumers, using equipment safely and properly.
nPractices universal precautions in all contacts with consumers.
nRespects the autonomy and right to confidentiality of all consumers and families.
nDocuments the care provided and the response of the consumer/family. Submits documentation in a timely manner.
nPerforms within the limits of preparation and experience.
nConsistently meets or exceeds Anastasia Care Services' established service standards, functioning according to agency policies and procedures, including confidentiality and HIPAA.
nDemonstrates the highest degree of consumer awareness by seeking out opportunities to identify and meet the needs of internal and external consumers.
nTreats each person as an individual with respect and dignity.
nIs receptive to questions and criticism, and willing to offer assistance.
nDemonstrates genuine concern and empathy.
nConsistently performs all of the above in a friendly, courteous manner.
nMaintains accountability for consumer satisfaction.

nC.HUMAN RELATIONS:
nMust maintain a professional attitude and demeanor and be able to communicate effectively and relate courteously and cooperatively with consumers, caregivers, colleagues, supervisor, co-workers and all others. Must be able to demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm and willingness to work constructively with other home care team members and reflect concern for the well-being of consumers and others.

nD.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
n1.This position requires the CNA to work in a variety of environments (housing styles, cleaning and maintenance, heating and cooling) during visits to consumers in their place of residence.
n2.Visual/hearing ability must be sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication.
n3.The CNA must have the ability sufficient to ambulate throughout a consumer's home, navigating stairs and other physical barriers typical to private residences.
n4.The CNA must be able to operate a motor vehicle and travel to and visit in consumer's homes in varying weather and road conditions.
n5.Must be able to deal effectively with stress.
