Job description
Responsibilities:
n- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
n- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
n- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
n- Assist with patient mobility and transfers
n- Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff
n- Assist with medical procedures, such as phlebotomy and specimen collection
n- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment
n- Document patient care activities accurately and timely using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Cerner
nRequirements:
n- High school diploma or equivalent
n- Completion of a nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience
n- Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) in the state of employment
n- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures
n- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
n- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
n- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
n- Familiarity with home care or senior care is a plus
nSkills:
n- Spinal tap: Knowledge and experience in assisting with spinal tap procedures.
n- Home care: Familiarity with providing care in a home setting.
n- Cerner: Proficiency in using Cerner or similar electronic medical records systems.
n- Medical documentation: Ability to accurately document patient care activities.
n- Hospital: Experience working in a hospital setting.
n- Patient service: Commitment to providing excellent service to patients.
n- Patient assessment: Ability to assess patients' physical and emotional well-being.
n- Senior care: Understanding of the unique needs of elderly patients.
n- Primary care: Knowledge of primary care practices and procedures.
n- Phlebotomize: Skill in drawing blood samples for diagnostic testing.
