Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)Total Rehab Kids is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing therapy team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients improve their daily living skills, functional independence, and overall quality of life.This is a hands-on clinical position where you'll implement treatment plans, guide therapeutic activities, and support patients in regaining independence. You'll play a key role in motivating patients, documenting progress, and collaborating with families and the care team to ensure the best outcomes.Minimum QualificationsAssociate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.Active state licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Texas.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in an outpatient, pediatric, or rehabilitation setting.Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills for effective communication with diverse patient populations.Current CPR and First Aid certification.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans.Lead therapeutic activities and exercises to improve physical, sensory, and cognitive function.Monitor and document patient progress, reporting updates to the supervising OT.Educate and support patients and families on therapeutic strategies to promote independence at home.Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive therapy environment.Skills & Qualities We ValueStrong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients and families.Organizational skills to manage caseloads and maintain accurate documentation.Physical stamina and dexterity for assisting patients in exercises and mobility tasks.Compassion, patience, and empathy to encourage and motivate patients.Bilingual communication skills (preferred) to connect with a broader range of patients.Why Join Total Rehab?
