Be part of a team that's dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.Unmatched Benefits & Perks:Tuition Reimbursement and Professional License Renewal ReimbursementFree CEUs401k PlanRewards and Recognition via CareHeroes Program (Gift Cards for Great Performance!)Flexible SchedulingProfessional Career GrowthJoin our team and grow with us!Position SummaryTo provide occupational therapy services as assigned under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist in accordance with PureHealth’s policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal regulations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Occupational Therapist, may contribute to the assessment of inpatients and outpatients in relation to their diagnosisUnder the direction of the Occupational Therapist, may provide intervention in accordance to, and contribute to the treatment plan, which is patient focused and relevant to the actual and potential health problems of the customerDocumentation (daily charges, Progress Notes, and other reports) is complete, legible, accurate, timely and reflective of department standardsTherapeutic benefit of treatment is monitored and modified appropriatelyProvides education at the level appropriate for each Customer and/or family’s learning needs are assessed, addressed, and documented per department standardsInitiates, coordinates, and communicates collaborative efforts (provider updates, discharge planning) amongst health team members and other interested parties to show a comprehensive picture of the customerDemonstrates competency in clinical skills and techniques specific to each unit on an annual basisOrganizes and adjusts schedule according to department work volume and customer caseload to maintain productivity Keeps immediate supervisor informed of ongoing activities or problems in regards to customer caseload in a timely mannerProvides input regarding department operational matters including but not limited to program development, quality improvement, facilities, planning, operational and capital budgetsComplies with laws and regulations applicable to position and act in accordance with Corporate Compliance Program, the licensing Board of Texas Healthcare and the American Occupational TherapyCompetenciesMaintains productivity expectationsAdvances customers as indicated throughout therapy stayEffectively communicates and collaborates with internal and external customersDemonstrates quality and timeliness of documentationDemonstrates referrals to PureHealth’s Outpatient DepartmentCultureThis is a high performance environment propelled by collaboration through our Teams of Excellence (T.O.E.) Program. The expectation for each team member is to engage in our complex and dynamic organization by adding value and support to fellow team members.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a post-acute setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Team member is expected to adhere to facility’s no-smoking policy.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a position in a post-acute setting that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Reports all suspected violation of company’s HIPAA policies or procedures to facility CEO.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesSound clinical judgment relating to the provision of rehabilitation servicesCollaboration with member of the interdisciplinary team in delivery of customer care to maximize functional outcomesAbility to communicate effectively with internal and external customers at all levels of the organizationProficient computer and Microsoft Application Must have an ability to learn new systemsAbility to work with a culturally diverse populationMust have positive communication skills and demonstrated adequate maturity and patienceProficient in the English Excellent communication (verbal and written), customer service and interpersonal skillsMust have good organizational skills with attention to detailMust be able to successfully prioritize workload, demonstrate initiative, and analyze situations to make sound decisionsMust show initiative and take action on observed needsRequired Education/ExperienceGraduate of an accredited COTA programA minimum of one (1) year of COTA experienceRequired License/CertificationValid State Appropriate COTA License
