Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Hand Therapy (Per Diem)Select Physical Therapy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide per diem coverage within our outpatient hand therapy program in Ft. Myers.Location: Ft. Myers, FLSchedule: PRN, Monday-Friday as neededPay: $35/hourQualificationsCertified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)Minimum one year of hand therapy experienceIn lieu of experience, new graduates considered with recent hand therapy fieldwork experienceResponsibilitiesAssist in the treatment of patients with upper extremity and orthopedic conditions, including tendon injuries, fractures, sprains, and post-surgical diagnosesDeliver care under the direction of the supervising therapistCollaborate with experienced hand therapists and Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs)Join a nationally recognized rehabilitation organization with a strong hand therapy network, established physician relationships, and opportunities to work alongside experienced clinicians in a supportive outpatient setting.ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable componentsEnsure delivery of high-quality patient care services.Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goalsEnsure proper documentation of patient care.Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policiesQualificationsMust be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) programNational registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIREDMust have 1 year current working experience with hand therapy patients.
