Job description
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, where you'll make a meaningful impact on students' academic success and daily living skills. This full-time role involves itinerant work across multiple school sites, supporting students from pre-kindergarten through transition age (up to 22 years old) and collaborating closely with teachers, staff, and families.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) credentials through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
Previous school-based experience is highly preferred
Comfortable traveling between elementary, middle, and high school campuses as assigned
Strong communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
Ability to manage diverse student caseloads and adapt strategies accordingly
Willingness to complete required fingerprinting and credentialing steps promptly
Role Responsibilities: Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills needed for participation in the school environment
Document student progress, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
Collaborate with classroom staff to integrate therapeutic strategies throughout the school day
Travel between assigned buildings within the school district, adapting to varying schedules
This contract runs through June 9, 2027, offering consistent hours between 35-37.5 per week, with daily schedules aligning to each school's unique start and end times.
