Job description
Bring your passion and expertise for supporting student development to an engaging contract opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) near Carlsbad, NM. Key Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Current certification as a COTA
Valid state licensure or eligibility to obtain it prior to starting
Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric therapy setting strongly preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, therapists, and administrators
Organized, flexible, and proactive approach to student care
Primary Responsibilities: Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students according to their IEPs
Support the lead Occupational Therapist in implementing therapy interventions within classroom and individual settings
Document treatment progress and maintain thorough, accurate records in compliance with school and legal requirements
Collaborate with educators and families to adapt activities and environments for maximum student participation
Assist in the assessment of student needs and contribute to evaluation and goal-setting processes
Participate in IEP meetings and other relevant team discussions
