Job description
Empower students in an educational setting as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting school-based therapy services on a contract basis. This role is ideal for those passionate about making a tangible difference in young lives while collaborating with educators and therapists in a dynamic school community near Woodbridge, VA.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Active COTA license in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
Previous experience working with school-aged children preferred
Ability to follow treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
Strong communication and organizational skills
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all students
Key Responsibilities: Implement prescribed therapy interventions and activities with students, as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
Assist with developing and modifying materials to support student achievement of IEP goals
Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and regulatory requirements
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
Provide feedback and recommendations to teachers and staff on strategies to support student access and participation
