nJob Summary:
nThe Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, to provide therapeutic recreational and activity services to all patient populations including Special Needs, Adult, Child and Adolescent. Has the ability to use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach that acknowledges the potential for recovery and wellness for every person we serve.
nEssential Functions:
nnnDevelops and conducts group therapy
n
nnProvides assessment to identify patient needs
n
nnDocuments pertinent clinical data following group
n
nnProvides individual assessment to patients as needed and makes recommendations to treatment team regarding needs for specialized rehab services or for planning for discharge and aftercare support.
n
nnParticipates in maintaining inventory of supplies
n
nnAssists in maintaining unit arts supplies and reports issues to the Director.
n
nnAssists as necessary for projects, reports, and other duties as assigned by supervisor
n
nnEffective group facilitation
n
nnKnowledge of psychiatric disorders and their effects on functional capacity
n
nnKnowledge of therapeutic use of multimedia and expressive arts modalities to support stabilization and rehabilitation
n
nnUnderstanding of age, socioeconomic, and cultural factors affecting patients’ interest and ability to participate in rehabilitation programs
n
nnAbility to effectively redirect patients and set clear, timely limits on inappropriate behavior
n
n nRequirements
nnnAssociates degree in occupational therapy from an AOTA-accredited program.
n
nnCurrent licensure by the Board of Allied Health Professionals, Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
n
nnAmerican Occupational Therapy Association membership preferred.
n
nnIRF and/or LTACH experience preferred.
n
nnCurrent Certification in BLS of Adult, Child and Infant.
n
nn2 - 3years of inpatient/outpatient psychiatric/substance use experience (willing to train individuals with a passion to learn)
n
n nSalary: $54,080 - 79,040
