Job description
Contribute your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a vibrant school setting near the Virginia-North Carolina border. Just outside of Danville and only 1.5 hours south of Roanoke, this contract opportunity is ideal for professionals ready to make an immediate impact with a full-time K-12 caseload through the end of the school year. Collaborate closely with two virtual Occupational Therapists and play an instrumental role in supporting students' development and success.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credentials
Experience in school-based occupational therapy, including work with K-12 students
Comfortable collaborating with remote OTs through virtual platforms
Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with staff, students, and families
Ability to adapt therapeutic strategies to diverse age groups and needs
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct therapy services to a caseload of K-12 students under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists
Support the implementation of IEPs and related therapy goals within the educational environment
Document sessions, progress, and outcomes accurately and in accordance with state and district guidelines
Communicate regularly with school staff and the supervising OTs to ensure coordinated and effective care for each student
Help create and maintain an engaging, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere for all learners
