Job description
Embrace an exciting contract opportunity providing essential support to students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a maternity leave coverage at multiple elementary schools. This assignment will begin tentatively around February 16th, 2027, and extend through May 14th, 2027, offering you the chance to make a meaningful difference in school communities. With a consistent, full-time Monday-Friday schedule and a manageable caseload, this position is an ideal fit for a dedicated COTA who thrives in educational settings.
Qualifications:
Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in South Carolina
Previous experience working in schools or pediatrics strongly preferred
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Adaptability to support students across multiple school locations
Responsibilities: Partner directly with one of the district's Occupational Therapists, providing therapy at assigned elementary schools
Deliver direct treatment sessions to 9-10 students per day, typically in 30-minute increments
Implement IEP goals and therapy plans, maintaining accurate documentation for each session
Communicate effectively with school staff and families, contributing to the students' progress and well-being
Travel between multiple school sites as assigned during the contract period
