Solaris HealthCare Lake Zephyr is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team. This position is ideal for COTAs looking for flexible, as-needed hours in a long-term care setting.
Located at 38250 A Ave, Zephyrhills, FL 33542 , Solaris HealthCare Lake Zephyr is dedicated to providing compassionate, resident-centered care that helps individuals maintain independence and quality of life.
Position Details
Status: PRN
Responsibilities Assist the Occupational Therapist with implementing treatment plans
Provide skilled therapy interventions to improve residents' ADLs and functional independence
Document treatments accurately and in a timely manner
Communicate effectively with the therapy and nursing teams
Educate residents and families under the direction of the Occupational Therapist
Requirements Active Florida COTA license
LTC or SNF experience preferred
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Qualifications: Successfulcompletion of the academic requirements of an educational program for theoccupational therapy assistant recognized by the Board of Occupational TherapyPractice. Such program shall beaccredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association's AccreditationCouncil for Occupational Therapy Education, or its successor
Mustbe licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as an occupational therapy assistantin the state of Florida
Prior experience in Occupational Therapy, preferred
Member of state and national American OccupationalTherapy Association, preferred
Professional attitude and appearance
Proficientadministrative and public relations skills
Thoroughknowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in occupationaltherapy
Thoroughknowledge of the possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessaryprecautionary and remedial measures
Trainingin the use of prescriptive devices (electrical stimulation, ultrasound),preferred
Abilityto establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and toobtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribed
Abilityto establish and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff andother personnel
Demonstrateemotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients andemployees
Mustmaintain patient and employee confidentiality
Knowledgeof Medicare and third party reimbursement, preferred
