Certified Occupational Therapy AssistantShift's Available: DaysEmployment Type: Full TimeHours: 8 hoursLocation: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GAWe are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), sometimes referred to as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist Assistant. Our Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant helps patients improve their ability to complete everyday activities, regain independence, and safely progress through recovery after illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization.ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):Within scope of practice and under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, provides prescribed therapeutic services in order to restore and prevent disability for clients, or patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiopulmonary disorders.Performs responsibilities in accordance with departmental and Hospital policies, state and federal regulatory requirements: Title 22 Section 70517, 70519.Provide occupational therapy treatments according to established plans of careAssist patients with mobility, coordination, strength, and daily living activitiesMonitor patient progress and communicate changes to the Occupational Therapist and care teamEducate and support patients and families throughout the rehabilitation processProvides prescribed therapy services to help restore function and prevent disability while following hospital policies and regulatory requirementsQualificationsEducation and Work ExperienceAssociation Degree (COTA) from an accredited program.Current state Occupational Therapy certification.Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.National Board for Certification Occupational Therapy certification, AOTA and OTAC membership preferred.Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:Health, dental, and vision insurance optionsPaid vacation, sick time and holidaysBereavement leave, FMLA and other leave optionsEmployer 401K optionsTuition reimbursement optionsLife, disability, and other insurance optionsMany other amazing benefitsEmployment Status: Full TimeShift: DaysEqual Employment OpportunityCompany is an equal employment opportunity employer.
