Job description
LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a client in the construction industry to identify an experienced Certified Payroll Specialist for a contract opportunity in the North Cincinnati area. This position will support a large, multi-state workforce and will be responsible for certified payroll reporting, payroll accuracy, and compliance.
We are looking for someone who can step into a fast-paced payroll environment and brings previous certified payroll and construction industry experience. The contract may have the potential to extend based on business needs and performance.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and process certified payroll reporting for construction projects while maintaining compliance with applicable wage requirements
Support payroll activities for a workforce of more than 1,000 employees across multiple states
Review employee hours, job classifications, pay rates, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy
Maintain organized payroll records and provide documentation for audits and reporting requests
Research and assist with resolving payroll discrepancies and employee payroll issues
Partner with payroll, accounting, HR, and operational teams to support accurate and timely payroll processing
Qualifications At least 3 years of payroll experience required
Previous construction payroll experience required
Experience supporting payroll for a large employee population, ideally 1,000+ employees
Prior multi-state payroll experience
Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, wage reporting, and related payroll requirements
Union payroll experience is highly preferred
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and high-volume workloads
Effective communication and problem-solving skills
Pay Details: $25.00 to $36.00 per hour
