Job description

Central Sterile/Supply TechnicianTemecula Valley Hospital (TVH), part of Southwest Healthcare, brings advanced technology, innovative programs, patient-centered and family sensitive care to area residents. The hospital features 140 private patient rooms; emergency care; advanced cardiac and stroke care; orthopedics; general and surgical specialties.The Central Sterile/Supply Technician will accurately perform quality control checks on instruments and equipment as well as ensure the sterilization of the instruments and equipment is up to standard. Essential Job Duties: The Technician is responsible for making rounds to assure equipment is properly charged for usage. Accurately maintains all sterile or clean supplies and issues same to nursing units on request. The Technician should also understand and be able to demonstrate the difference in flashing techniques. They must possess the ability to accurately decontaminate, assemble and wrap instruments and trays for sterilizations along with assembling a wide variety of instrument sets along with keeping log of missing instruments and signing the instrument set list according to protocol, as assigned. In addition, the Technician will utilize/refer to surgeon preference cards when setting up trays and must demonstrate the ability to pull cases and prioritize instrumentation needs based on the surgery schedule.Qualifications:CERTIFIED SPD TECH One (1) year experience in surgical department in an acute care facility requiredSterile Processing certification or National Surgical Technician certification requiredCurrent BLS obtained through AHA (American Heart Association) requiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredCertified Endoscope Reprocessor certification required within one year of employment requiredThis opportunity offers the following:Challenging and rewarding work environmentGrowth and development opportunities within UHS and its subsidiariesCompetitive compensationExcellent Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug Plan (part time or full time)401k plan with company match (part time or full time)About Universal Health Services:One of the nation's largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, Universal Health Services, Inc.
