Sterile Processing Technician CertifiedShift: Monday - Friday; 11pm to 7:30am with rotation to weekends and holidays.Work Arrangement: On-Site Department: Sterile ProcessingFacility: University Hospital – 1 Hospital Drive, Columbia, MOCompensation:· Base Pay Range: $20.58 to $32.49 per hour based on experience.· Shift Differentials: Additional $2 per hour for night shiftAbout The JobMU Healthcare is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician Certified to join our dynamic team! Here you can define your career among our many clinical and nonclinical positions — with growth, opportunity and support every step of the way.Employee Benefits· Health, vision and dental insurance coverage starting day one· Generous paid leave and paid time off, including ten holidays· Multiple retirement options, including 100% matching up to 8% and full vesting in three years· Tuition assistance for employees (75%) and immediate family members (50%)· Discounts on cell phone plans, rental cars, gyms, hotels and moreDetailed Job Description· Disassemble, clean, assemble and test instrumentation for proper functioning.· Employees in a lead capacity Assist with teaching of new hires and work as resource person for other staff as well as other units in hospital.· Perform and participate in the decontamination, inspection, cleaning assembling and packaging of medical/surgical materials including instruments and equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure a sterile and functioning supply of materials.· Prepare trays and specialty carts for designated areas according to prescribed procedures. Wrap and/or package items for specified areas according to procedures prescribed for those designated areas. Operate instrument tracking systems.· Use knowledge of different types of sterilization materials and equipment to choose the appropriate material for sterilization processes. Assist in the maintenance of supply and materials inventory to include documenting usage, issuing, receiving and recording as assigned.· May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.Required Qualifications· One (1) year of experience as a surgical sterilization tech; Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification by Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or surgical technologist program graduation may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.· Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification by HSPA within one (1) year of hire as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.Preferred Qualifications· Completion of some college work.· Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
