Substance Abuse Counselor

Position Overview:
River Edge is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team within the Adult Addictive Disease Outpatient Program. We provide comprehensive, coordinated, and evidence-based outpatient treatment services to support individuals on their journey to full recovery from substance use disorders.
Location/Schedule:
175 Emery Highway, Macon, GA -Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual counseling and support to clients and their families affected by substance use disorders.
Facilitate group counseling sessions, including process therapy groups and educational sessions on addiction-related topics.
Conduct confidential behavioral health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans, addressing substance use and any co-occurring needs.
Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary treatment team members to ensure coordinated, client-centered care.
Qualifications: Required Certification or Licensure: CAC I/II or CADC I/II OR.
LMSW or LPC with a minimum of two years' experience in a social service-related role.
Preferred Experience: Skilled in facilitating group therapy and skills training.
Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders is a plus.
