Job description
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)TRC Companies is seeking a full-time Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with AWS D1.5 (preferred)/AWS D1.1 shop fabrication experience to perform quality assurance inspections. This position primarily involves working at AISC certified fabricators (Bridge and other steel structures) in a geographic region spanning from central Pennsylvania to central Ohio. We are looking for a traveling CWI who is open to extensive travel throughout these states.ResponsibilitiesPrevious bridge/structural fabrication inspection (QC or QA) experience.NDT Level I or Level II certification, UT, MT, PT or Radiographic Interpretation. (Preferred – MT required for bridge fabrication).ICC Structural Bolting certification or other experience inspecting high strength bolt testing and installation. (Preferred – not required).NACE/SSPC coating certification or other experience inspecting application of coatings on structural steel. (Preferred – not required).Familiarity and experience with AASHTO/AWS D1.5/AASHTO/AWS D1.1.Perform third party DOT structural steel fabrication quality assurance inspection and reportingUtilize applicable ASTM and AASHTO construction specifications.Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and project special provisions to verify compliance to material quality.Ability to work closely with other fabrication, construction, and quality personnel in a courteous and professional manner.Perform Visual (VT) Testing inspection per applicable code requirements.Familiarity with inspecting and reporting high strength (Grade 325) bolts testing (rotational capacity/preinstallation verification) and reporting. (Preferred – not required).Ability to use the following: Laptop computer, cell (smart) phone, scanner, and printerExperience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, internet, report writing, file (photograph and other) attachments.Ability to develop and maintain client relations.QualificationsAmerican Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) will be verified through years minimum project experience with structural steel fabrication.NDT / Coatings / Bolting certifications are a plus.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Good Driving Record (driver license will be verified).Pass pre-hire drug screening/testing.BenefitsMedical, dental, vision, and disability insurance.401k package that includes both traditional and Roth IRA options and Company match.Paid time off contingent upon full time or part time status and level of seniority (ranging from 15 to 25 days per year).All full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 8 Paid Holidays per year.TRC ensures that all employees, including those that work part-time, receive paid sick, family, and disability leave in accordance with the laws of their state of residence.Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.Salary RangeUSD $38.25 - USD $42.00 /Hr.
