Job description
Structural Weld InspectorVertiv is seeking an experienced Structural Weld Inspector to oversee and verify the quality of welding activities related to structural steel fabrication and erection. This role is responsible for ensuring all welding work meets applicable codes, project specifications, and company quality standards through detailed inspection, documentation, and coordination with production and project teams.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform visual inspection of structural steel welds in shop and field environmentsVerify welds comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, project specifications)Inspect joint preparation, fit-up, weld size, profile, and overall workmanshipIdentify, document, and report non-conforming work and verify corrective actionsMaintain accurate inspection reports, logs, and quality documentationCommunicate inspection findings clearly with welders, supervisors, engineers, and clientsSupport internal audits, customer inspections, and regulatory compliance activitiesPromote a strong culture of quality and safety across all work areasRequired QualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience inspecting structural steel weldsAbility to read and interpret structural drawings, weld symbols, and specificationsExperience performing shop and field weld inspectionsStrong documentation and reporting skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with heavy structural steel, industrial, or bridge projectsExperience working in fast-paced fabrication environmentsSkills & CompetenciesExcellent attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and exercise sound judgmentProfessional, fair, and consistent approach to quality enforcementStrong organizational and time-management skillsPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to work in fabrication shops and active construction sitesAbility to stand, climb, bend, and work at heights as requiredWillingness to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as project needs dictateAbility to work in varying weather and industrial conditionsAbout VertivVertiv (NYSE: VRT) brings together hardware, software, analytics and ongoing services to enable its customers' vital applications to run continuously, perform optimally and grow with their business needs.
