Certified Welding Inspector – Rolling StockPerforms a wide variety of inspections in the Carshell welding area to ensure train coaches are built to specifications. Follows general inspection guidelines to conduct routine visual CWI, dimensional, and mechanical inspections on a wide variety of welded and machined components and assemblies. Utilizes one or more non-destructive testing techniques to verify welding meets specifications.To thrive in this role, you have:Obtain and hold AWS Certified Visual Weld Inspector Associate - or - VT Level II certification and certification in one or more non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.Ability to retrieve information from computer systems/databases and input data into electronic inspection systems.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more.
