Job description
Century Group is excited to share a great opportunity for a strong Senior Cost Accountant to join one of our clients. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $43 to $58 per hour.
Responsibilities:
Create cost estimates for new and proposed products, ensuring thorough analysis and consideration
Utilize financial data analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and provide actionable recommendations
Assess the impact of changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services on costs
Conduct regular audits to maintain compliance with accounting principles and regulations
Monitor material and labor costs, identifying information requirements and suggesting improvements
Prepare weekly and month-end reports detailing cost activity and inventory status
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
Minimum of 5 years' experience in cost accounting roles, preferably within manufacturing or similar industries
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and demonstrated expertise with ERP systems
Proven ability to define quantitative/qualitative problems, gather and interpret data, and draw valid conclusions
Effective communication and presentation abilities to convey complex financial information clearly
Demonstrated capacity to collaborate cross-functionally and thrive in a team-oriented environment
Strong attention to detail with a proficiency in mapping and following processes
