Job description
The Melody Project is a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit reducing loneliness among older adults through intergenerational music programming — published with Oxford Academic, presented at the Gerontological Society of America, and a registered member of the UN Major Group for Children and Youth. With 500+ older adults reached through 14 chapters across three countries, we're now expanding across Asia and the Pacific — and looking for our first student founders in the region.
Be the first founder in your country, and your chapter carries the Country Founding Chapter title.
As a Chapter Founder, you will:
Launch and lead a chapter in your community, partnering with a local senior living community, eldercare facility, or elder-serving organization
Recruit and lead a team of 10-15 student volunteers
Facilitate monthly sessions of live music, reminiscence-based conversation, storytelling, and shared art-making, adapted to your community's languages and musical traditions
Contribute to our growing international network as we pilot research and evaluation frameworks developed with postdoctoral researchers, measuring loneliness, connection, and wellbeing among the older adults we work with
