Chemical Operator 1Hot JobKS - Great Bend, KS 67530OverviewSalary Range $13.25 - $13.25 Hourly Position Type Full Time Category ManufacturingDescriptionSummary: This responsibility includes being a member of the Fuller Maintenance team, as well as the Chemical Department, no two days are the same because Chemical operators make hundreds of products on several different lines. Chemical Operator help put floor cleaners, waxes, hand sanitizers, disinfectants, and many other cleaning products into gallons, quarts, bags and variety of other containers. These products are used in schools, health care, food grade manufacturing and other business.Essential Duties:Work in various departments following the applicable Skill Set Grouping (SSG)Operate production machinery and equipment, according to work instructions and/or under the direction of supervisionAssemble products according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications or under the direction of supervisionLoad raw material, subassemblies, components or packing material into production or processing equipmentPack subassemblies or finished product in totes, cartons, etcApply labels or other identification to finished products according to specificationsPerform visual inspection of work performedPerform routine in-process and finished product quality checks using gauges, fixtures, templates, scales, etcAccurately count and record completed work and material consumptionRepair or rework defective products or subassembliesPerform minor machine set up and adjustmentsPerform routine Preventative Maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, etc.) on machines and production equipmentOperate manual material handling equipmentBeing present at work and adhering to assigned work scheduleOvertime when requiredQualificationsQualifications:Candidates must have the ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance desired. Industry specific on-the-job training provided.Language Skills:Must be able to read, write and speak English, bilingual a plus.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Valid driver's license required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; some high school education required.Physical Demands:Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.Use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.Reach with hands and arms.Talking or hearing.Occasional walking;Stoop; kneel; crouch.Lifting/handling: exert up to 50 pounds occasionally; up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Vision: color; close; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment:Work is performed under generally good conditions with some machine noise, fumes, oil, and dirt present. Adequate lighting, ventilation is present. Extreme outdoor temperatures will influence the temperature in the production area.Exposure to usual minor shop injuries such as cuts bruises, burns and sprains are inherent in the job. Some exposure to more serious hazards; however, probability of serious injury will be minimized by adherence to established safety regulations.Training will be provided to personnel who may occasionally wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.
