Yerkes Buffalo is the North American manufacturing home of Corian® solid surface products, introduced in 1968 and the founding manufacturing location for Tedlar® polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) films, introduced in 1961.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitoring and operating complex chemical processes, equipment, and facilitiesReading, interpreting, and following instructions including standard operating conditions and proceduresCollecting and analyzing samples and verifying product meets requirementsObtaining, loading, unloading, transporting, storing, and staging of materialsOperating mobile equipmentFollowing site safety procedures to prepare and operate equipmentPayThe starting rate for this position is $23.46 while in a one-week orientation. Post orientation, the hourly pay will increase to a minimum of $25.81 with potential earnings up to $39.57 dependent on job assignment and qualifications.Job QualificationsMinimum Skills / Qualifications :High School diploma or GED equivalent requiredMinimum 1-2 years of industrial experience including manufacturing, warehousing, construction, or other equivalent technical trade. Military experience is also desirable.Willing and able to perform basic troubleshooting on factory equipment (with training)Willing and able to assist with equipment failure diagnosis/repair alongside maintenanceWilling and able to work independently once trained on tasksDemonstrated familiarity with pumping systems, various valve configurations, and the ability to troubleshoot and locate blockages, equipment malfunctions, and system failuresPreferred Skills / Qualifications :Advanced degree beyond High School (Associate, Bachelor, etc.) from an accredited programPrior work experience in a chemical plantExperience doing lockouts i.e. isolating hazardous energy sourcesExperience operating mobile equipment i.e. fork truckPrior experience wearing a respiratorPrior experience wearing a chemical resistant suitExperience using computer software including Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)A successful candidate will have the ability to perform the essential duties of the role with or without reasonable accommodation, including the following:Willing and able to work a rotating shift schedule, 8 or 12 hours, including holidays and weekendsWilling and able to work overtime, sometimes on short notice, and OT may be mandatoryWilling and able to wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) including a respirator (clean shaven) and full chemical resistant suit with supplied breathing airWilling and able to lift and move objects that weigh up to 55 lbs (25 kg)Willing and able to climb multiple flights of stairs, multiple times per dayWilling and able to work on elevated surfaces climbing open vertical laddersWilling and able to be trained to work in confined spacesWilling and able to drive power industrial truckDuPont is an equal opportunity employer.
