Headquartered in Basel (Switzerland), Arxada employs 3,200 associates across 24 production sites and 14 R&D centers, all committed to our customers' success.Essential Job Functions:Comply with all corporate and plant policies, procedures, guidelines, and work instructions pertaining to safety; and attend all mandatory safety meetings and training sessionsConduct plant operations in accordance with appropriate standard operating proceduresIntervene in potentially unsafe situations and unsafe acts. Report any unsafe conditions or equipment and any accident or injury immediatelyHave a working knowledge of the hazards and proper handling procedures of materials used on a regular basisInspect and provide for the safe operations of all tools and equipment used on the jobPerform manufacturing duties related to the production of bulk chemicals. These duties include both manual operations and computerized DCS systemFollows all established procedures to avoid contamination of the environment and complies with proper disposal of wastesPerforms product/material sampling of hazardous chemicals per SOP's/work instructionsWeighs trucks, reviews shipping papers and signs out shipmentsLoads bulk trucks and railcars, intermediate bulk containers and obtains the appropriate shipment samplesReceives and unloads raw materials, both bulk and drumsPerforms container labeling, weighing and recording of all pertinent informationConducts a thorough shift handover of all equipment and processing information that has occurred during the course of the shift. Ensures that assigned work is up-to-date and work area is left in a neat and orderly mannerOperates Powered Industrial trucksQualifications & Experience:High school degree or equivalent with completion of math courses preferredMinimum of 3 years' experience in the chemical industry preferredAbility to perform duties independentlyKnowledge and proficient use of computersUnderstanding of safety & environmental rules and procedures preferredMust complete Level I & II of Mapleton's Operator Certification Training ProgramMechanical aptitude to perform process equipment maintenance.The expected salary for this role is 33.10 an hour U SD. As a union role, there are salary increases every six months. In two years, the applicant would be at the top pay for this role. Training for this position is on DAY SHIFT for 6 months. Then the role will be assigned to NIGH SHIFT and get an extra $1.25 an hour for shift differential.This role is also eligible to earn a bonus and benefits as defined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement.Arxada has world class offering in three distinct areas:Consumer Microbial Control (CMC) focuses on the threat posed by microorganisms to people, with products spanning the food and drink, professional hygiene, home and personal care, crop protection and wood protection areas.Industrial Microbial Control (IMC) supplies antimicrobials and performance additives for the plastics, energy, textile and other industries, as well as dry-film and wet-state preservatives for the paints and coatings that provide protection and improve efficiency in the construction and marine sectors.Nutrition, Care & Environmental (NCE), meanwhile, provides materials used to manufacture composites for electronics, aerospace and other markets, as well as vitamins and nutritional ingredients, chemicals and performance intermediates, and raw materials for a wide range of high-performance applications.Arxada is an equal opportunity employer.
