Air Liquide's ambition is to be a leader in its industry, deliver long term performance and contribute to sustainability - with a strong commitment to climate change and energy transition at the heart of its strategy.Air Liquide is hiring for a Chemical Operator in Newport, DE!We are looking for you!Work Schedule - 12 hour shifts 6pm-6amComprehensive Family Benefits: Air Liquide offers a full benefits package designed to support your whole life, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, and Disability Insurance.Support for Parents: We offer a 14-week paid child birth benefit to support growing families.Future Security: 401(k) Retirement Plan with company match, Tuition Assistance, Paid Holidays, Vacation, and Sick time.Early Access: Your benefits start after day 1Operate automatic and manual chemical process equipment of varying complexity in accordance w/ operating procedures, including programmable, logic control devicesFollow specifications, job orders, work instructions, recipes and procedures to produce specific products according to our ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systemPerform complex liquid / chemical batch manufacturing, maintaining a familiarity with a variety of production machinesAbility to work in C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, particularly within the context of hazardous material handling and solvent extractionMonitor and control process variables, such as temperature, pressure, and flow ratesRoute product samples for quality control inspection according to procedureComplete preventive maintenance on a regular, timely basis. Handle first-line troubleshooting such as equipment malfunctions, computer program issues, setting adjustments; involving appropriate other experts as needed.Comply with the Company's safety and environmental standards:Maintain a clean and organized work areaAssure proper disposal of waste materialsContribute actively to safety improvement programsComply with all Company policies including safety, operating procedures, quality, attendance and proper on the job conductThis position is shift work on a 12 hour Dupont Schedule, day-night rotationAre you a Match?Required QualificationsHigh School diploma or G.E.D. equivalentMinimum of 1 year of Industrial Manufacturing experienceProven experience with C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, particularly within the context of hazardous material handling and solvent extractionGood written skills, proficient computer skills, and ability to work with MS Office tools are requiredPhysical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objectsContinuous standing in one location for long periods (2-3 hours before break)Flexibility to work in shifts and handle occasional overtime as neededPreferred QualificationsGood judgment, attention to detail, and manual dexterity are requiredStrong multi-tasking skillsDeep understanding of chemical processes and equipmentSolid communication, interpersonal, organizational, numerical, and analytical skills are requiredExcellent interpersonal communication skills and attention to detailCapability to prioritize time efficientlyOur Differences make our PerformanceAt Air Liquide, we are committed to build a diverse and inclusive workplace that embraces the diversity of our employees, our customers, patients, community stakeholders and cultures across the world.We welcome and consider applications from all qualified applicants, regardless of their background.
