Reactor OperatorTends to equipment or systems that process chemical substances into industrial productsDumps specified amounts of solid materials into heating vessels or blending tanksTurns valves to feed liquid and gaseous materials through equipment unitsMaintains system at specified temperature, pressure, and vacuum levelsObserves chemical reactions; monitors gauges, signals, and recorders; and receives notification from control laboratory, supervisor, or other workers to make specified operating adjustmentsDraws samples of products for laboratory analysisMaintains log of gauge readings and shift productionHS Diploma or equivalent required18 years of age or olderMust pass pre-employment drug screen, physical and background checkChemical processing experience is strongly preferredMust be able to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)Union membership required after 30 days of employment3rd shift (11:00 pm – 7:30 am)Occasional overtime may be required.
