Job description

Our Mission:

We unite for Idaho’s youth by offering accessible programs and services that nurture hope, healing, and resilience.

So, who are we?

Idaho Youth Ranch is one of the largest and oldest non-profits in Idaho. Since 1953, Idaho Youth Ranch has provided healing and hope for Idaho’s kids. We use proven therapies and programs to help youth who have experienced loss or adversity transform childhood trauma into hope. We offer a statewide network of services to youth 9-24 years old and their families, including outpatient therapies, residential care, adoption services, and career readiness. These services are supported by a statewide network of thrift stores that, in addition to being mission and program providers, contribute a significant portion of the funds needed to support our services.

How will you impact our mission?

Idaho Youth Ranch is seeking a mission-driven Chief Behavioral Health Officer (CBHO) to lead the delivery of behavioral health and support services for youth and families across Idaho. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the CBHO will oversee clinical, residential, and non-clinical programs, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed care and operational excellence(SC1) . We have a bold goal to double the number of youth we serve by the end of FY28, and this position will be critical to both the growth of current programs and our geographic and programmatic expansion.

How will you impact our mission?

Lead and manage all direct service programs, including outpatient therapy, residential care, adoptions, and workforce development.

Ensure clinical quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all behavioral health services.

Mentor and develop program leaders and staff to deliver impactful, client-centered care.

Collaborate with the CEO and senior leaders to align operations with strategic goals.

Build partnerships with community stakeholders to expand access and impact.

What does a successful candidate look like?

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, Health Administration or related clinical field, or equivalent experience in behavioral health leadership.

10+ years of progressive leadership in behavioral health or clinical operations.

Proven ability to lead multi-site or statewide behavioral health programs.

Deep knowledge of clinical best practices, compliance, and quality assurance.

Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.

What do we offer?

In addition to contributing to our awesome mission, working at IYR has many advantages! We offer affordable medical and dental care, other voluntary benefits offerings, a 401(k) match, paid time off, an employee discount on purchases at our thrift stores, and a caring and compassionate work environment, just to name a few.

Why unite with us?

Because we are better together! Our team members enjoy a workplace where relationships are the foundation. We are all committed to the same mission, where growth is always possible, where we are treated with and show compassion, where trust guides us to transparency, and above all, where joy sustains us.

As a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, the Idaho Youth Ranch is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PLSF) program. The PLSF offers student loan forgiveness on qualifying loans under specific conditions. Speak with your loan provider for more information.
