Position Overview
Our client is a highly successful and profitable privately held company seeking a hands-on CFO who can help take the business from approximately $20 million to $100 million in revenue.
The CEO wants more than a traditional finance executive. This person will take ownership, bring intensity and fresh thinking, and develop a clear roadmap for growth. The CFO will help determine how to best deploy capital, evaluate acquisitions and investments, improve systems and profitability, and build the financial infrastructure needed for a much larger organization.
Just as importantly, this person will earn the trust of the existing team, mentor the Controller, and serve as a strategic partner to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the CEO to develop and execute the company's $20M-to-$100M growth strategy.
Lead cash management, capital allocation, forecasting, and investment analysis.
Evaluate and support M&A opportunities, including modeling, due diligence, financing, and integration.
Identify opportunities to improve profitability, margins, productivity, and overall business performance.
Strengthen financial reporting, systems, processes, controls, and technology, including automation and AI.
Mentor and develop the Controller and accounting team.
Provide ownership with clear recommendations regarding growth, investments, financing, and risk.
Develop an actionable first-90-day plan and longer-term roadmap for scaling the organization.
Qualifications
Successful CFO or senior financial leadership experience in a growing privately held or entrepreneurial business.
Demonstrated history of helping a company materially grow revenue and profitability.
Family office experience and an understanding of ownership and investment considerations.
Strong M&A, cash management, treasury, capital allocation, and investment experience.
Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis skills.
Experience implementing systems and processes capable of supporting significant growth.
Proven ability to develop and lead accounting and finance professionals.
Strong executive presence with the confidence to challenge assumptions and drive execution.
Leadership Profile
The right person is confident, driven, decisive, and comfortable taking ownership. They can point to businesses they have helped grow and clearly explain their impact.
Most importantly, they can sit across from the CEO and present a credible vision for how the company gets from $20 million to $100 million —and then take responsibility for helping make it happen.
