Job description
Chief Financial Officer - Community Bank
A well-established, locally owned community bank is seeking its next Chief Financial Officer as part of a planned executive succession. This is an opportunity to join a healthy, approximately $600MM institution with an experienced leadership team, strong Controller already in place, and a retiring CFO who will provide a thoughtful transition.
The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team with responsibility for financial strategy, accounting and regulatory reporting, budgeting and forecasting, ALM, liquidity, interest-rate risk, investment portfolio strategy, and overall balance-sheet management. The position currently has five direct reports and approximately 15-20 employees across the broader areas under its oversight.
A particularly important component of the role will be helping manage and optimize the bank's $200MM+ securities and liquidity portfolio.
Ideal Background
Significant financial management experience within a bank or community financial institution
Controller, Treasurer, CFO, or senior bank finance leadership experience
Strong understanding of ALCO/ALM, liquidity, investments and balance-sheet management
Financial and regulatory reporting experience
Experience working with executive leadership, Boards, auditors and regulators
CPA strongly preferred
Hands-on, collaborative leadership style suited to a community banking environment
This is a full-time, onsite executive position in Northern California. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.
This is a planned succession - not a turnaround and offers the incoming CFO the opportunity to inherit a strong team while having meaningful influence over the bank's financial strategy and continued growth.
