Job description
The Chief Financial Officer will serve as the strategic financial architect for Ergo‑Flex Technologies as the company enters its next phase of growth. This leader will build the financial infrastructure, systems, and strategy required to support sustained, scalable expansion owing financial planning, cash flow management, capital strategy, risk management, and the transition from consultant‑based bookkeeping to a professional finance function.
The ideal candidate understands the cash flow dynamics of a growing company — managing investment in inventory, equipment, and headcount — and can serve as a strategic thought partner to ownership and the executive team. This is a full‑time role from the start, with scope and responsibilities expanding as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage multi‑year financial models projecting the company’s growth trajectory and capital needs
Create annual budgets and rolling forecasts with departmental accountability
Advise ownership and the executive team on the financial implications of strategic decisions
Model scenarios for new market entry, product launches, facility expansion, and acquisitions
Cash Flow & Capital Management
Manage cash flow during heavy investment and rapid headcount growth
Evaluate and secure financing: credit facilities, equipment leasing, SBA loans, or growth equity
Optimize working capital by managing accounts receivable, payable, and inventory turns
Develop capital expenditure plans for equipment, facilities, and technology investments
Transition from consultant bookkeeping to a professional in‑house finance function
Implement accounting systems, internal controls, and audit‑ready financial reporting
Lead the financial module of the ERP system
Performance Analytics & Reporting
Build executive dashboards with KPIs: revenue, margins, CAC, LTV, and cash conversion cycle
Provide monthly financial reporting to ownership, the executive team, and Advisory Board
Analyze product‑level profitability, customer segment economics, and pricing optimization
Develop cost accounting frameworks for manufacturing operations
Manage tax strategy, compliance, and planning across all jurisdictions
Oversee insurance, liability management, and risk mitigation programs
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, GAAP standards, and reporting requirements
Support the ownership transition with proper legal, tax, and equity structuring
Required Qualifications
20+ years of progressive experience in financial services, commercial banking, or corporate finance
Strong expertise in lending, credit analysis, capital access, and banking relationships
Demonstrated leadership in business strategy, business development, and stakeholder relationship management
Financial literacy across budgeting, cash flow management, and capital allocation
Experience advising businesses on financing, risk management, and growth strategy
Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field; MBA strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Background in insurance and risk management consulting
Experience supporting founder‑led or growth‑stage companies
Familiarity with manufacturing, product, or distribution operations and cost structures
Exposure to ERP or financial reporting systems (NetSuite, SAP Business One, or similar), or willingness to develop this expertise
CPA, CMA, or additional finance credentials (a plus; may be developed in the role)
Established network of financial institutions and business contacts in the greater Houston region
Key Performance Indicators (First 12 Months)
Partner with the executive team to identify the top five most important areas of focus for the first 90 days
Once those priorities are established, develop a detailed action plan around each focus area
Establish the best approach for the executive team and CFO to meet, strategize, and communicate all key performance indicators of importance
Develop and report a plan to align with a 20% top‑line growth target for the company
Administer department and employee audits (alongside Josey Anderson) to better understand each role within the company and to document FDA compliance
Equity or profit‑sharing participation to align long‑term incentives with company growth
Potential performance bonus tied to financial performance milestones and growth targets

Compensation: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
Benefits: You will be eligible for Dental and Vision Insurance, life insurance, 401K contributions after 30 days of employment and vacation and sick paid time off after completion of 90 days of employment.
