About the job

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines. Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

As the Chief of Staff to the Lead of GR Chief of Staff and Operation (CS&O), you will be a strategic partner managing the day-to-day execution of our organization's goal. You will complement the GR CS&O Lead with high energy, exceptional drive, and executive communication skills. In this role, you will translate complex logistics into high-efficiency moments of leadership. You will be expected to lead by example, adopting AI-native practices and modeling the operational agility required for this new era.

Google Research addresses challenges that define the technology of today and tomorrow. From conducting fundamental research to influencing product development, our research teams have the opportunity to impact technology used by billions of people every day. Our teams aspire to make discoveries that impact everyone, and core to our approach is sharing our research and tools to fuel progress in the field -- we publish regularly in academic journals, release projects as open source, and apply research to Google products.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Direct and synchronize complex topics across CS&Oteam leads and the broader Google Research organization, ensuring cross-functional execution.

Craft high-stakes internal and external narratives, briefing documents, and strategic presentations for the Lead of CS&O and broader GR leadership.

Lead high-priority special projects that support an aligned, forward-looking, and efficient research ecosystem.

Audit and implement automated workflows and custom agents within our own operational processes.

Keep the team's operational heartbeat, including the Chief of Staff (CoS) Forum, Leads meetings, and all-hands sessions, ensuring transparency and consistent messaging.
