Job description

Company Overview

Ghost is an inventory distribution platform and operating system for modern retail trade. We partner with the world’s best brands to help them understand the true value of their inventory and route it to the right destinations globally. Ghost gives brands precise control over where and how their inventory is sold. Backed by top venture firms including L Catterton, Cathay Innovation, Union Square Ventures, Equal Ventures, and Eniac. Ghost has offices in Los Angeles and New York.

About the Role

Ghost is looking for a Chief of Staff to partner closely with our CEO and extend his reach across the organization. You will keep cross-functional initiatives moving and project manage special initiatives across product, sales, and supply so each function can operate at a higher velocity. You will help existing teams be more productive, ensure the CEO's priorities translate into outcomes, and remove friction between strategy and execution.

The ideal candidate is an operator who is eager to gain a seat at the table during a pivotal stage of Ghost's growth and develop a deep understanding of how our business operates.

Key Responsibilities

Project manage cross-functional product initiatives sourced from the CEO and customer feedback, by defining scope, owners, and timelines, and surfacing any blockers before they become delays

Translate customer insights from the CEO's sales conversations into structured product asks, partnering with product and engineering leads to prioritize them

Maintain a single source of truth on top-priority initiatives so leadership has visibility

Coordinate the creation and upkeep of sales collateral, which includes pitch decks, one-pagers, competitive battlecards, and case studies by working with marketing, product, and sales leadership

Project manage CRM hygiene, pipeline reporting cadences, and weekly sales reviews so the team has clean data and clear next steps

Identify operational friction slowing reps down and partner with the right owners to resolve it

Support the onboarding and ramp of new sales hires by orchestrating training plans and resources

Manage prep and follow-up for the CEO's external meetings, including briefing documents, agendas, and post-meeting action tracking

Triage incoming requests and decisions, route work to the right internal owners, and draft communications on his behalf

Support leadership meetings, all-hands, investor updates, and board preparation

Coordinate cross-functional efforts to identify, prioritize, and engage target brand partners — running pipeline tracking and reporting for supply-side opportunities and partnering with Sales to keep outreach, pilots, and onboarding on schedule

Synthesize learnings from partner conversations into playbooks the team can repeat

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus

3+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or operating roles at a high-growth startup

Exceptional project management skills, with a track record of moving multiple cross-functional workstreams forward simultaneously

Avid user of AI and passionate about incorporating AI into daily workflows (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.)

Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable drafting executive-level documents, customer-facing materials, and internal communications

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong judgment on what matters most in any given week

Comfortable operating with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-moving startup environment

Low ego, high ownership — energized by making others more effective rather than seeking individual spotlight

Previous experience in marketplace, retail, or e-commerce a plus

Fluency with CRM tools (HubSpot/Salesforce) and data analysis, a plus

Compensation

Our total compensation for this position can range from $175,000 – $200,000. The actual amounts may vary based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the position. This position is onsite in our Los Angeles (mid-city) office.

Benefits

Medical, Vision, and Dental with some plans covered at 100%

Competitive compensation and equity structure

401K

Unlimited PTO
