This is a unique opportunity to join a highly respected Los Angeles-based architecture and interiors studio known for its exceptional design work and unwavering commitment to quality. As Chief of Staff, you will play a critical leadership role at the heart of the business, partnering directly with studio leadership to drive operations, project performance, and strategic initiatives across a talented team of 16 professionals. The position offers a dynamic blend of business operations, project oversight, financial management, and team leadership, providing broad exposure to some of the most sophisticated residential and interior design projects in the industry. Location: Venice, CA
Schedule: Hybrid (Work from home Wednesdays and Fridays)
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic partner to leadership, helping oversee the day-to-day operations of a 16-person architecture and interiors studio.
Manage and track project timelines, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and aligned with the firm's high standards of excellence.
Monitor project performance, including hours spent per project, resource allocation, and overall workflow efficiency.
Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and accountability across projects.
Support financial and operational planning, including project budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Oversee internal processes and systems to improve productivity and studio performance.
Facilitate collaboration between design, project management, finance, and administrative teams.
Assist with strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and business planning to support continued studio growth.
Maintain visibility across both high-end residential and interior design projects, ensuring seamless execution from inception through completion.
Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in a Chief of Staff, Operations, Project Management or similar leadership role within architecture, interiors, design, or a related industry.
Architectural background strongly preferred, with an understanding of project delivery and design processes.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple teams, projects, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, resource planning and financial reporting.
Experience tracking project hours, utilisation, and overall project performance metrics.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience using project and financial management software, including BQE CORE (formerly BQE Encore), and HR/project management platforms such as Monday.com.
Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-driven approach.
Passion for maintaining a high level of quality and excellence across all aspects of studio operations.
