Job description
Officially, the contract says Chief of Staff.
What the seat actually requires is something rarer.
I am recruiting the right hand for an exceptional, mission-driven founder in Austin.
This is a business where winning means more people get helped. High growth, intense pace, serious mission.
Most corporate job specs try to make this sound tidy. They list bullet points about cross-functional alignment and board governance.
I would rather tell you what the seat actually looks like day-to-day.
Some days you are an Executive Assistant. You are ruthlessly protecting headspace and diary management. You are the only person in the building with the backbone to sit the founder down, stop them saying yes to every meeting, and send them home to have dinner with their family.
Some days you are running projects across operations, marketing, and social media. Picking up things that do not have an owner and making them run.
Some days you are an out-and-out Chief of Staff, driving execution across the firm so nothing slips through the cracks.
Overwhelm is not the goal here. The work is genuine operational involvement and real leverage.
You will sit closer to the decisions than anyone else in the company. You will see how an ambitious, values-led business scales in real time.
If you need a tidy corporate silo where your duties never change, this will break you.
If you are an operator who wants real influence beside a demanding founder, then we'd love to hear from you
