Job description
Chief Operating Officer — Rise Wellness
Seeking a disciplined, high-ownership business leader who runs the full business — not just operations — for a fast-growing consumer brand portfolio as part of a publicly traded company. This leader will be accountable for overall performance across two emerging, high-growth brands, supported by a lean and highly accountable team.
Rise's CEO is a proven visionary and revenue-driver, focused on sales, brand, and key relationships. This role exists to run everything else — translating vision into a well-managed, profitable business. The right leader partners closely with the CEO on strategy and long-term direction while owning full business execution: operations, financial performance, marketing execution, people, and cross-functional alignment. They build systems that scale, drive margin discipline, lead confidently through ambiguity, and create calm in a high-growth environment.
This is both a strategic and hands‑on role. Rise is in an aggressive growth phase — building top‑line momentum and taking market share — while building the operational and margin discipline needed to drive toward sustainable profitability. The right leader is equally comfortable shaping that long‑term direction and personally solving today's operational bottlenecks.
About Rise Wellness
Rise Wellness is a wholly‑owned subsidiary of USANA Health Sciences, Inc., a publicly traded company founded in 1992.
Rise Wellness provides the world with high‑quality, better‑for‑you products focused on clean, simple, and natural protein. Our commitment to excellence extends far beyond our products—we're dedicated to building a team of exceptional people who thrive in a fast‑paced, innovative, and rapidly growing environment. With multiple brands and significant expansion opportunities ahead, Rise is the ideal place for someone energized by an entrepreneurial, scaling organization.
Community is at our core. We strive to be open‑minded listeners, hold ourselves and others accountable, show respect in every interaction, and celebrate the strength that comes from collaboration. We work hard to foster a culture where every member of the Rise family feels included, valued, and supported.
Who We Are Looking For
Rise is seeking a highly capable, forward‑thinking Chief Operating Officer to run the day‑to‑day business across the Rise Wellness portfolio — spanning operations, finance, marketing execution, and people — and to serve as a trusted right hand to the CEO.
In partnership with USANA's shared operations team, this leader directs outcomes across supply chain, co‑manufacturing, procurement, demand planning, S&OP, inventory management, logistics, commercialization readiness, and operational infrastructure. Beyond operations, this person owns financial performance, marketing execution, and go‑to‑market alignment, and organizational health across the business. They partner closely with the CEO on business direction and long‑term strategy — bringing sound judgment, financial discipline, and a broad, general‑management view of the entire business — while ensuring disciplined margin management, strong cash flow awareness, and scalable systems across every function.
We're looking for a seasoned business leader — someone who has run a full P&L, not just a functional area — who combines confident, principled decision‑making with an adaptable, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves leadership style. The ideal candidate thrives in a lean, high‑growth environment, comfortable owning outcomes across the entire business rather than a single function, and has a credible voice on where the business is headed.
What You Will Do as Rise's COO
Own accountability for operational outcomes across both brands, ensuring alignment with growth strategy
Direct and hold accountable USANA's shared operations team on supply chain, co‑manufacturing partnerships, procurement, and vendor negotiations, representing Rise's priorities and standards
Set forecasting, S&OP, and inventory targets in partnership with USANA's ops team, and hold the line on service‑level excellence
Improve gross margin through cost optimization and disciplined operational oversight, working through USANA's operating infrastructure
Own the full P&L and overall business performance across both brands
Own financial performance and margin management in partnership with finance, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation discipline
Oversee marketing execution and go‑to‑market alignment, ensuring initiatives connect to overall business strategy and ROI
Define scalable systems and KPIs across operations, finance, and marketing, in coordination with USANA's teams who administer shared platforms
Ensure operational readiness for retail expansion and new product launches
Own organizational health — team structure, hiring, and performance across all functions reporting into this role
Strengthen cross‑functional accountability and execution cadence across Rise and USANA teams
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO on capital allocation, growth pacing, and long‑term scaling
What Success Looks Like in This Role
Operational Clarity & Control
Forecast accuracy and inventory discipline that support confident growth
Clean execution of new product launches and retail expansions
Reliable service levels across key accounts
Margin & Cash Discipline
Improved gross margins through supplier optimization and cost control
Clear visibility into working capital and inventory health
Demonstrable progress toward sustainable profitability alongside continued growth
Systems That Scale
Implementation of fit‑for‑growth operational infrastructure
KPI dashboards that provide real‑time visibility into performance
Automated and standardized processes that reduce fire drills
Whole‑Business Ownership & Strategic Partnership
Trusted right‑hand and thought partner to the CEO on business direction
Clear accountability and strong results across operations, finance, and marketing — not just one function
Early identification of operational risks and growth bottlenecks
Balanced, data‑driven guidance on scaling decisions
Calm, Accountable Leadership
Creates clarity in fast‑moving environments
Builds a culture of ownership and accountability
Leads with confidence without creating unnecessary complexity
Qualifications
Prior experience as a CEO, President, or General Manager with full P&L ownership strongly preferred
10+ years of leadership experience in CPG, food & beverage, or better‑for‑you brands
Proven experience scaling brands from entrepreneurial stage to $75M+ revenue
Broad business leadership across operations, finance, and marketing — not solely a functional specialist
Experience directing outcomes through a shared‑services or matrixed operating model, not just a direct team
Strong financial acumen with command of gross margin, unit economics, working capital, and capital allocation
Commercial and marketing fluency — able to connect brand, sales, and marketing decisions to overall business performance
Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity
Strong cross‑functional leadership and communication skills, including influence without direct authority
High integrity and strong ethical values
Benefits of Being Part of the Rise Family
We offer a robust package including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; an on‑site medical and mental health clinic; chiropractic and massage services; fitness classes and a full‑service gym; 401(k) match; paid parental leave; and generous paid time off to support work‑life balance.
