Chief Revenue Officer | Confidential Retained Search | Edge I Data Center I Equity
Valor Front has been exclusively retained by a newly launched U.S. colocation and AI inference platform to identify its first Chief Revenue Officer.
Our client is a standalone data center operating platform backed by a leading global infrastructure investor that has committed up to $1 billion to build the business. The platform is seeded by ten purpose-built, wholly owned data centers across nine U.S. markets, with roughly 53 MW of immediate installed power capacity, approximately 259,000 square feet of available colocation space, high-density and liquid-cooling readiness, and dense multi-carrier fiber connectivity. The company is deliberately focused on the underserved mid-market and enterprise colocation segment in supply-constrained markets rather than chasing hyperscale campus headlines.
This is the first commercial hire on the platform and a rare blank-page opportunity: define the go-to-market strategy, choose the verticals, build the team market by market, and shape the company alongside a founding team of seasoned data center commercial operators. The CRO reports directly to the CEO.
Key responsibilities:
Define and execute go-to-market strategy, including product mix, vertical segmentation, target customer profiles, and market prioritization
Build, hire, and lead the sales and revenue organization from a blank page
Develop the channel partner ecosystem across VARs, MSPs, IT resellers, brokers, and carriers
Establish pricing strategy, SLA and contract frameworks, and sales processes suited to multi-tenant colocation
Implement revenue operations discipline, including pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM
Help shape overall company and product strategy and support M&A
What we are looking for:
Data center or colocation industry experience is required
A proven builder of enterprise sales teams with experience selling in smaller capacity increments (cabinets, cages, suites, sub-15 MW deployments) to mid-market and enterprise customers
Someone who has been through a company scale journey at an earlier-stage colocation platform
A sitting CRO or CSO title is not required. Our client is specifically open to a hungry, highly successful VP or Senior Director currently blocked from advancing at a larger operator
Comfortable with the ambiguity and pace of a startup or carve-out environment
Compensation includes a highly competitive base salary and bonus plus meaningful equity participation.
