About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Schools Officer to serve as the senior instructional leader for its network of schools. This role is pivotal in driving the organization's mission of educational equity and post-secondary success. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of all educators and administrators, leading the implementation of the academic program, and ensuring that every scholar is performing at grade level or above, with a focus on college and career readiness. The Chief Schools Officer will also be an enterprise leader, shaping the strategic plan, and making resource decisions to effectively serve the scholars and schools. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' progressive instructional leadership experience, with a proven track record of leading a multi-site school system, particularly in the charter school sector. The role requires expertise in the TK-12 education continuum, a deep understanding of data-driven improvement, and a commitment to culturally responsive leadership. The Chief Schools Officer will be expected to make scholar-centered decisions, lead change, and engage with families, teammates, and the community as genuine partners. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a Master's in education or a related field, and knowledge of California charter law is strongly preferred. The position demands a leader who can balance the need for coherence across the organization with responsiveness to the diverse communities served by the schools.
