Full-Time, Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is a leading medical acute inpatient & outpatient treatment center in Columbus, OH, treating suicide, addiction, memory disorders & mental health issues. This 130-bed acute care hospital offers a wide range of services, including Adult and Senior Inpatient Programs, Dual Diagnosis Programs, and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) to address community needs.
We are currently seeking to add a Full-Time, Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to support our patients receiving specialized psychiatric care.
About the role:
The Inpatient Psychiatrist will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.
Responsibilities include:
Providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
Practicing within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
Reviewing medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
Evaluating patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
Treating or directing treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
Reviewing and completing medical information for individual care plans, documenting services and information in a timely manner.
Maintaining confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
Qualifications include:
Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
One or more years' post graduate degree practice preferred.
Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
Licenses/Certifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry preferred.
Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
