The YMCA of Central Texas is searching for passionate, energetic positive role models to join our team as ChildWatch Counselors !
nThe ideal ChildWatch Counselor is a strong communicator and problem solver who is able to engage with children aged 6 weeks to 13 years. ** ******
nThis is a Part-Time position. Monday- Friday 8:00am- 12:00pm ** , ** _ as well as weekend shifts Saturdays 8:00am-1:00pm, Sundays 1:00pm-4:00pm . Must be flexible to work during school breaks. _
nWe are offering $250 bonus for new staff!
nEssential Functions:
nnEnsure the safety of participants at all times through active supervision while meeting the individual needs of each child in their care
nModel the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility at all times
nBe an appropriate, positive role model
n nSkills/ Requirements:
nnHigh school Diploma/GED preferred
nMust be at least 17 years of age
nMust be able to be on your feet the entire length of your shift and be able to lift up to 40lbs
nMust possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills
n12 months experience working with children preferred
nBe friendly, courteous, enthusiastic, possess a cooperative attitude, and be a team player
nBe CPR/AED and First Aid certified or willing to be certified within first 30 days of employment
nMust be able to pass reference checks, criminal history background check, Sex Offender Registry check, and pre-employment drug screen prior to hiring
n nPay Rate: $13.00 to $15.00/hour
