Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAmerican energy infrastructure company. It specializes in owning and controlling oil and gas pipelines and terminals is hiring for a Chromatography Specialist. This is a contract assignment with the goal of transitioning to a direct employee with the client. The transition will depend on skill level, how well the individual works with the team and if they are able to perform the task required.
The contract assignment has no (PTO) paid time off (this includes no paid holiday and paid vacation). Contractors can request time off and take time off but please understand it’s not paid time off.
This will initially be approximately a 6-month contract assignment, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time position based on business needs and performance.
Position Overview
The successful candidate must have hands-on experience with ABB 8206 field gas chromatographs, including troubleshooting, maintenance support, and providing training and technical assistance to field personnel.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Performing gas analysis using a variety of laboratory chromatographs
Testing, troubleshooting, and supporting field chromatographs
Providing technical support and training to field personnel
Assisting with other laboratory activities and projects within the Company
Providing occasional after-hours phone support
Traveling as needed to support field operations
Candidate Qualifications
We are looking for someone with strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills who can work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Required experience includes:
Direct experience with ABB 8206 field gas chromatographs
Gas chromatography and gas analysis experience
Experience with field measurement equipment
Laboratory operations experience
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Clean driving record required
The ideal candidate will also be trainable, self-driven, dependable, and honest, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively with individuals across a wide range of personalities, technical skill levels, and educational backgrounds is important. The candidate should consistently demonstrate professionalism, tact, and courtesy when working with both field and laboratory personnel.
Location & Assignment
The position will be based at the Company's downtown Houston.
This will initially be approximately a 6-month contract assignment, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time position based on business needs and performance.
Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
